The Chicago Yacht Broker

Jeff Pierce has a long history as a boater that began in early childhood when he learned how to sail and water-ski at the family's cottage in northern Wisconsin. When his children were young, he taught them how to water-ski behind an 18’ speed boat. For five years, he owned a 27’ Sea Ray that the family enjoyed on the Fox Lake Chain. This was followed by a 37’ Sea Ray in Burnham Harbor for eight years. In 2006 Jeff purchased a 52’ Jefferson (the lead photo on the home page) that was a bank repo and had been abandoned for four years. During the following two years, he painstakingly restored and updated Broke-R, doing most of the work himself. After 7 years with the Jefferson, he purchased a 1999 Sea Ray 460 Sundancer.

Jeff’s interest in boating led him to become a yacht broker after 35 years of sales and sales management in the computer and networking industries. During those years, he won numerous awards as a top performer. On 4 occasions he was the top performer in the company. Becoming a yacht broker for the past 20 years has been the fulfillment of a lifetime passion for boating. Additionally, Jeff has been a member of the Chicago Yacht Club for 25 years.

Professionally, Jeff is a member of the Yacht Brokers Association of America. In July, 2007, he received a Florida salesman license and two years later a Florida Yacht Brokers license—becoming one of only 3 Florida Yacht Brokers in the southern half of Lake Michigan.

In 2008, he passed the test to become a "Certified Professional Yacht Broker" (CPYB ✯ Learn more about CPYB » ). He is one of only 17 CPYBs on Southern half of Lake Michigan.
